Hi Bending Spoons!

I’d love to be part of Bending Spoons. I applied for the Product Manager role but didn’t advance to the interview stage, so I created this page to showcase my ideas and motivation to hopefully get an interview.

I have extensive experience as a product designer and am open to considering other roles where I can bring value.

Onboarding

We could try changing the CTA to a softer one, like "Find nearby activities" instead of "Sign up." This way, we can reduce the friction of creating a new account. However, after they click, we can prompt them to log in or sign up.

The current interest selection had many options with dropdowns and a lot of text. I thought of borrowing an idea from Pinterest by displaying interests with pictures. This could better convey to users that the app offers the exciting activities they’re looking for. Additionally, many interests had similar names, so we might consider merging them and reducing the number of choices.

If these approaches haven't been tested yet, it might be worth running an A/B test.

Gamification

After researching online, I found that many organizers were upset with the price increase and are considering other platforms. So, I thought we could explore ways to deliver more value to them—something other platforms are not offering—to differentiate ourselves further.

Gamification mechanics could encourage users to take specific actions and boost weekly/monthly retention. Additionally, achievements, streaks and rankings within groups could create a sense of progress, making it harder for users to switch to other event platforms. As a result, organizers would also be more likely to stay on this platform.

Paywall

We could consider reducing the text of the bullet points on the first screen of the paywall to a single line. After users press 'Next,' we can explain how the trial works. If this hasn’t been A/B tested with the existing paywall, it might be worth testing.

When Blinklist implemented a similar approach to explaining their trial, they saw a 23% increase in trial signups and a 55% reduction in customer complaints. Click here to learn more

I understand that providing truly innovative solutions requires internal data, deep research, and user interviews. However, I wanted to reach out again to express my motivation.

I truly appreciate your time! Below is the email I applied with, along with links to my CV and cover letter.
